This project involved the analysis of a complex existing pipework
system prior to upgrade. Data was supplied on a large number
of drawings and information on pipe types, lengths, elevations
etc was abstracted from these drawings prior to developing the
model. The condition of some pipes was uncertain; steel pipes
had slimed up and so an element of calibration was required to
achieve flows and pressures in the model which agreed with site
conditions.
Accutech was
commissioned to develop a model of the system and he objective
of the study was determine the improvement in performance which
would be achieved when old corroded pipes were replaced.
